Why is Exedy Racing Clutch superior to any other high performance clutch?

Exedy Racing Clutches are made by the original equipment manufacturer for most Japanese cars. These units are engineered for high performance use. Others are only modified standard clutches.

Why do other clutch upgrades appear so different from Exedy Racing Clutch?

Because they are fabrications, their manufacturers have taken a stock clutch and altered the lining, welded it, or added weights in order to try to enhance the performance. Exedy Racing Clutches are manufactured from materials designed to handle increased horsepower and torque  loads.

Are any high performance clutches S.F.I. Certified?

Only Exedy Racing Clutches have a full line certification to S.F.I. specifications. All other "manufacturers" start with stock clutches. So if a stock clutch has a gray cast iron pressure plate (such as most Honda/Acura clutches), they cannot have it certified.
